Events & Sales Manager

Core Clapton is a charity that provides affordable osteopathy to the local community, and helps people live healthy and happy lives through activities that encourage movement and physical and mental wellbeing. 

We are able to do this by generating revenue from hiring out our facilities for events such as photoshoots and weddings, and by charging high-street prices to those able to pay for wellness.

To this end we are looking for a highly organised and self-motivated person to become our new Events and Sales Manager to help drive sales from our event space.

The Events and Sales Manager has overall responsibility and accountability for management of venue hire and sales, working across the organisation to develop use of the main space (one-off hires, regular wellness events, etc) which reflect Core Clapton’s brand, our changing wellbeing programme and which meets the needs of our diverse audience.

A creative individual with a passion for event management and sales, but also building communities, the Events and Sales Manager will have responsibility for:

• Implementing the venue hire strategy;
• Setting, achieving and exceeding financial targets;
• Developing and implementing marketing strategies which promote the revenue streams to our key markets;
• Taking bookings;
• Developing key relationships; and
• Ensuring events are managed effectively by the Event Staff team, which are under the management of the Events and Sales Manager.

The successful candidate should be an all-rounder with a background in generating income, creating operational procedures and managing a small team. Ideally you would have a hospitality background and experience selling event space but your attitude and ability to multitask with an eye for targets is more important. And above all passion to help the community.

Our event space is a hidden gem and prior to lockdown we had over 30 weddings booked for 2020 with film and photoshoots from a wide range of companies such as the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Ministry of Sound, using our beautiful Edwardian hall. In 2021 and beyond we need to maximise usage of the hall to enable the charity to provide as much low cost care to the community as possible. This is where you come in.
