Raising IT

A note from our Founder, Tom Latchford...

I decided to on a summer's day in 2009 when one of my friends from Oxford, a self-made entrepreneur, stockbroker and beat-boxer, at a trendy rooftop restaurant in London, climbed over the railing and jumped. Raising IT now funds an annual young social enterprise prize in his memory.

I set off at this point to raise one million pounds for charity. I couldn't believe how difficult it was. It took me a good few years to exceed the target, but from there things have been able to scale exponentially to help charities raise tens of millions of pounds online.

I am deeply committed to the sector and helping it succeed. Outside of Raising IT I spend most of my time in voluntary roles - as a Chair of Belarus Free Theatre, a trustee of Hubbub and a volunteer at Great Ormond Street.

Raising IT is applying years of learning, millions of pounds of investment and some of the brightest minds to working out how to crack digital for charities.
