Skye keeps us all running in the same direction at Escape, working to make Escape an amazing place to work where we impact millions of people’s lives and help change the working status quo. Before joining Escape, Skye worked at Startup Britain and think tank Centre for Entrepreneurs, traveling across the country designing initiatives to help support entrepreneurial ambitions across the UK. She is a Business Advisor on Facebook’s She Means Business campaign and sits on the advisory board of The Entrepreneurs Network, a think tank working on entrepreneurial policy.

Before joining Escape, Lauren enjoyed an exciting career in publishing and PR. Lauren escaped the hustle and bustle of the PR world to join the school, managing all aspects of recruitment for our Escape School programmes. Between sales and admissions, Lauren makes sure our members receive the most practical and inspiring career change content that’s out there. In her spare time, Lauren is also an amateur in sewing and is a trustee of a local charity.

Jim Roberts

Jim has escaped from Law, Finance and a drone business that was struggling to get off the ground. He flew back from Costa Rica to join the Job Board team and is currently focused on marketing opportunities to the Escapee community and helping employers to find the best people possible for their roles. Jim’s superpowers include going above and beyond for everyone he works with and writing, as Jim is writing a novel in his spare time.

Lorna is our marketing guru and all around superstar at Escape. Lorna joined us from Enterprise Nation, where she led the campaign management of Facebook’s She Means Business programme, which involved implementing a training programme for 10,000-plus female founders, as well as leading on marketing at Startup Britain. Lorna’s superpowers include turning hair-brained ideas into reality, keeping Escape’s marketing slick and inspiring, and making amazing things happen with very limited budget or resource.

Pete escaped a career in hospitality and retail to join Escape to help our 7,000+ Employers use our Job Board to help find talented professionals who want to do something different. Pete’s superpowers include running a tight ship, web development, and making sure we’re all keeping on top of our key metrics.

Stacey Lowman

Stacey escaped a career in the investment industry to launch her own business, Pachira Money, offering financial education and financial wellbeing to individuals, organisations, schools and charities. Stacey works on the Career Change Accelerator Programme and is the Community Manager for our 1,500 alumni who have started their own business or transitioned into work they love. Her superpowers are helping people with the practicalities of building a side-hustle or portfolio career and creating meaningful connections across the Escape network.

James Macdonald

James escaped working in a financial call centre to join Escape in 2018, and has taken on a variety of projects since! He loves helping people escape mundane, corporate jobs and follow their passions! James’ academic background is Politics and International Relations, having recently completed an MA in Human Rights at Kingston University. Outside helping people change careers, James comprises 1/5th of the band Hear Lies.

Pelin coaches for creative professionals and teaches worldwide supporting individuals who seek to bring more of who they are to their creative projects, businesses and lives. Her interest is always in exploring the stories that shape us and the stories we have yet to inhabit that bring greater joy and ease. In her former life she was a correspondent for Reuters, TIME magazine and The Independent for more than a decade before going on to co-found !f Istanbul, the popular international independent film festival.

Since escaping Consultant Management for IBM, Matt has spent the last 5 years as a facilitator, writer, publisher, and speaker helping people work purposefully. Matt helped found The Escape School in 2014 and has since helped hundreds find a new career direction and move into new areas of work.

Jess worked in the music industry for six years before deciding that she needed a change when she escaped to manage a youth-led peer education initiative in Mozambique. Jess returned to start Franklin Scholars, a social enterprise working in secondary schools across England. Her superpowers are building an entrepreneurial mindset, making purposeful businesses sustainable, and balancing building a business with growing a family.

Iris left behind a career as a corporate marketer 5 years ago to pursue her love of helping others. Since then Iris has become a life coach, Certified Professional Coach (iPEC), and the founder of The Wellscene, the game-changing secret London workout. Her superpowers are helping people understand their values, skills and career options, start businesses with little startup capital, and overcome fear in transition.

Mikey joined Escape the City in 2011, and helped us to launch our first international test in New York City. After returning to the UK Mikey led on product and marketing before Escaping the city of London himself and moving to Bristol with his young family. Mikey currently is the CEO of web development agency Simple Web but remains on Escape’s board.

Rob Symington

Co-founder

Rob left behind a career in management consulting to spend his days masterminding Escape’s expansion with Dom. Having successfully launched the School in 2014, Rob left the business full time to Escape to Porto and into his family business. Rob remains on the board of Escape and is our number 1 cheerleader.
