If you're interested in joining the Equity Fundraising team with Sacha and Shaun, check out the open roles at Crowdcube here:
Crowdcube is on a mission to fuel the next generation of high-growth European businesses that want to leave their mark on the world. As an equity fundraising manager, you’re the first step in making that mission a reality. You’re tasked with finding Europe’s most innovative businesses and educating them on the process and power of raising investment from their community and ours with Crowdcube.
Both of us worked at London-based startups before joining Crowdcube. In those roles, we witnessed the everyday challenges a founder and their teams have to go through just to survive. Crowdcube gives you the opportunity to solve some of those challenges not just for one business, but for hundreds. Who could resist the chance to support some of Europe’s most innovative startups?
Given that you’re supporting founders every day, it’s essential that you have exceptional emotional intelligence and are incredibly organised. You need to be able to get under the skin of entrepreneurs to understand what their challenges are and how Crowdcube can solve them. You’ll be building plenty of these relationships at once and each one will need your advice and guidance in a different way!
This role is not about being an investor. You don’t need to come armed with experience from working at a VC or a fund. You need to assess whether a business can raise with Crowdcube and educate them on how it can be done. From that point, it’s up to our 1 million-plus members to decide whether it is an opportunity worth investing in or not.
Working at Crowdcube, you have a real sense of purpose. We are trying to fund companies on the economic and cultural frontiers. In this sense, we help bring the future into the present - which is pretty special.
Of course, there are challenges to working here. We are dealing with startups that are at ideation stage as well as more mature high-growth businesses that are raising Series C funding. You’ll be supported by a team of 80 people across four offices who’ll be on hand to help you with any complexities or challenges with the fundraise.
Crowdcube gives its employees a real sense of belonging and plenty of exciting opportunities. The company has a fantastic reputation in its market and is trusted by some of Europe’s best businesses, such as Brewdog, Monzo, Freetrade, Curve, CityMapper, GoHenry, Chip, Cowboy, What3Words and Moneybox. Those who work here have gone on to operate in venture capital and other high-growth businesses. The role equips you with the necessary skills to survive and thrive in the startup space!
