Recruitment Process

Our clients expect excellent results, and therefore we are looking for the very best candidate to fill this role. Our recruitment process is rigorous to give you a chance to show us what you can do, and assess if this is a role you'll thrive in. The process will include interviews and a full test day, for which you will be paid £65.

The Role

Advisors work across our charity, corporate and philanthropy clients (often at the same time); this role requires organisation, initiative, and adaptability. 

Client Work

• Build a clear picture of all clients, their needs, their set-up, and the style of advice they need, and use this to build positive, excellent relationships (including with individuals, charities, social enterprises, companies and foundations).
• Consistently deliver high quality work that meets client briefs in terms of content, style and attention to detail by project managing and directly producing deliverables, making best use of the skills, capacity and knowledge of the team. This work varies but includes research, interviews, analysis, operational and project strategies, memos of recommendations, feasibility studies, messaging drafts, coaching, facilitation, presentation, securing buy-in from senior stakeholders, and much more. 
• Provide a final line of defence for client deliverables, with high-calibre copy editing of teamwork, and proof reading of documents. 

I.G. Work

• Contribute to our strategy discussions where appropriate, and constructively challenge in ways that lead to positive refinement.
• Business development is a big part of the Advisor role and includes representing us at events, delivering pitches, preparing and creating new proposals, and proactively seeking to renew existing client relationships for future work, and find and build new relationships.
• Line managing Junior Advisor(s) and project manage client work. Being able to provide clear, regular and constructive feedback and recognition is key, as well as being a role model for junior staff.

Who You Are

We are looking for someone who is:

• Brilliant: Keen to learn and gain experience in the philanthropic sector, with ideally 3-6 years of related work experience within the social good space; that could be as a fundraiser, social entrepreneur, philanthropy advisor or CSR professional. We value brilliance and a willingness to work hard and learn fast over relevant job experience.
• A strategic problem solver: Solving problems is at the heart of what we do. Our team is good at diagnosing issues and figuring out how to solve them. 
• Intellectually curious: You should have a solid understanding of trends and priorities in fundraising, philanthropy, social investment and corporate impact, and maintain an ability to keep up to date on these.
• A stellar communicator with first class relationship management skills: A people person who is “on brand” 100% of the time, with clear and persuasive verbal and written communications. This includes native level fluency in English, and additional languages are always a plus. 
• A quick learner: We don’t expect you to know or have done everything when you start - instead, we’ll be looking for you to pick up new skills and knowledge quickly, then run with them.
• A detail-oriented worker: Incredibly efficient and organised, known for your unparalleled attention to detail, and able to demonstrate responsiveness, reliability and dependability. A love of structure and deadlines, and knowledge of how to prioritise to meet them.
• Politically aware and compassionate: ​​Actively attentive to issues at play in social and environmental justice, with an ability to apply both critical and compassionate lenses to all elements of working with colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders. 
• An independent team player: Someone who thrives working with a small team in a flexible and fast-paced environment, as well as being an independent self-starter who can manage workload and assignments independently. 
• An early adopter of technology who is savvy across many platforms and tools: Able to pick up new technology quickly; our regularly used tools include Xero, Hubspot, Asana, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, social media, and Slack.
• Discreet and able to handle confidentiality: Able to work sensitively with high profile individuals or private philanthropic entities. 
• A coffee drinking dog lover: We are a dog friendly workplace and generally highly caffeinated (tea drinkers welcome, too). 
• Fresh, dynamic and slightly irreverent: Just like our podcast. 

Benefits

• Salary: starting at £36,000
• Discretionary Bonus & Commission: A discretionary annual bonus based on personal and company performance, plus generous commission on new clients brought into the firm. 
• Progression & Development: All staff are supported to develop skills and knowledge in relation to their career aspirations, and progression is actively supported. 
• Hours: 9am - 6pm, Monday – Friday. Hours are flexible to accommodate for team wellbeing while meeting client deadlines.
• Location: Office in London, SE1, with flexible, hybrid work place policy.
• Benefits: Pension, health insurance, 38 days off per year (including 25 days annual leave, your birthday off, UK bank holidays, and the time between Christmas and New Years).
