What will you be doing?

Working with our trustees and operational team, the Treasurer will help ensure the charity has strong financial governance and remains financially sustainable.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing financial oversight and guidance to the Board
  • Reviewing management accounts, budgets, cash flow and forecasts
  • Helping trustees understand the charity’s financial position
  • Supporting annual budgeting and longer-term financial planning
  • Reviewing financial controls, policies and procedures
  • Supporting preparation and review of the charity’s annual accounts
  • Liaising with our accountant/auditor where appropriate
  • Advising on reserves, financial risks and major expenditure
  • Supporting trustees when considering contracts, funding and investment decisions
  • Helping develop financial plans for our expanding sports, education and community facilities
  • Attending trustee meetings and presenting clear financial updates

The Treasurer will provide oversight and challenge rather than being expected to undertake day-to-day bookkeeping.

What are we looking for?

  • A finance professional. A knowledge of charity finance is an advantage. Otherwise an enthusiasm to learn, drawing from sound commercial experience and an understanding of SMEs.
  • A strategic thinker with an ability to balance risk and opportunity.
  • Clear communicator with the ability to bring the financial information alive to non-finance specialists.
  • Willing to play an active role in areas such as forecasting, setting budgets, liaising with auditors

What difference will you make?

London Rangers Youth & Community is entering an important period of development. Alongside our existing education, football and community activities, we are developing Evershed Sports Ground into a larger community sports and education hub.

Strong financial governance will be essential as we manage existing operations while developing new income streams and facilities.

As Treasurer, you will help our trustees make well-informed financial decisions, manage risk, improve financial planning and ensure charitable resources are used effectively.

Your expertise will help us build a stronger and more financially sustainable organisation capable of supporting young people and the wider community for many years.
