The Role

An Executive Director position accountable to the Board of Directors (which will be made up of Founder and Investor Non-Executive Directors). 

We are seeking a CEO who will take charge of day-to-day operations and develop the structures needed within the business to achieve strong growth over the next three years. Of key importance will be the ability to bring in new customers, manage and motivate what is a very small team currently and where necessary take responsibility to recruit the right talent to meet business objectives and grow into new markets. 

The Company

Noodle Live is an event technology company who provide cloud-based solutions to the organisers of B2B events such as tradeshows and conferences. Their products improve the event experience whilst capturing valuable data in order to objectively quantify event ROI.

The company offers three core products which the customer can control via a web-based dashboard:

  • Print on demand badging
  • Session scanning & reporting 
  • Exhibitor lead capture

The Noodle Live platform has been developed over a 8-year period with an impressive client list and significant revenue generated to date. Noodle’s client list includes many household names such as BT, Worldpay, Google, GAME, Telegraph, Deloitte, Marriott, and Diageo. 

Their experience has given the team an intimate understanding of the market’s requirements for on-site data capture. The company has leveraged this insight within the ongoing updates to their current platform to enable their products to be delivered on a self-service basis. This experience is reflected in the design of their system with the granular controls required to meet bespoke requirements using a templated system.

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, financial recovery has been strong, supported by a core small team with key commercial contracts reinstated - this has been driven by a huge appetite for in person events and a less crowded marketplace. The company now faces the fresh challenge of managing the growth of new SaaS revenue streams supported by the best talent for product, delivery and sales. 

Leveraging its current performance and customer base, Noodle Live plans to establish itself across multiple regions as the premier on-site event technology supplier with an outstanding reputation for highly effective self-service products and customer support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to the Board, to keep them aware of developments within the industry and ensure that the appropriate policies and strategies are developed to meet the business’ vision and objectives and to comply with all relevant statutory and other regulations as appropriate
  • Work with the Board to set the overall strategic direction of the company and plan and execute these strategies to achieve stated objectives and business plans on time and to budget
  • Set company budgets and forecasts with the Board
  • Leadership of the business ensuring the company vision is delivered and its commercial objectives met
  • Work with developers to ensure that the Noodle platform is consistently best in class for its market position and client needs
  •  Refine, implement and execute the commercial and marketing strategy for the business working with sales and marketing with a view to opening up new sales channels and markets
  • Work with the Board to agree the organisational structure and ensure we have a winning team
  • Work with and lead the team to maximise efficiency, build culture and achieve excellence in event planning and execution
  • Continuously analyse and optimise the business’ route-to-market to achieve agreed objectives and explore new markets and opportunities
  • Build long-term relationships with suppliers and customers to the benefit of the business 
  • Represent the Company publicly 

Key Skills & Experience

We are seeking a business builder to take on and lead this exciting events technology company and bring it to the next level with passion, care and commitment. 

  • Senior leader with experience of working in technology businesses ideally with a focus on “Software as a Service”
  • A passion for delivering for clients and growing businesses
  • Self-starter with an in-built sense of urgency and ability to multi-task and make things happen 
  • Ability to switch between fine detail and broader business objectives 
  • Committed and "lead from the front" leadership style that will motivate, inspire and develop people
  • Experience of working with the sales team to deliver in multiple sales channels relevant to the business 
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of devising and executing winning plans
  • Financially astute, understanding of management accounts, P&L, balance sheet and excellent Excel skills
  • Intellectually capable and curious, with a desire to solve problems and gain a competitive edge in a fast moving technology market
  • Experience working with technology product suites and the clients that it serves
  • An understanding of development and coding would be helpful 

Compensation

Negotiable, to attract and retain the required person with equity offered as part of compensation.
