The role:

We are looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our scaling Data team. Working on new and exciting greenfield projects within DataOps, you will build out world class data platforms for YuLife

Day to day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Exploring and trialling new tooling for extract and load possibilities
• Documenting, testing and maintaining existing pipelines.
• Building new systems to ingest new sources of data.
• Working with Engineering and DevOps teams to understand the latest changes to infrastructure and impact on Data.
• Building new transformations in DBT.
• Ongoing performance tuning of existing data platforms.
• Working with distributed analysts to translate reporting requirements into schemas.
• Schema design and development.
• Data management including maintaining data dictionaries for key reporting.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Underlying knowledge of data warehousing and analytics architecture principles, structures, dimensional modelling, ETL Processes and methodologies (Kimbali, Inmon
• Practical experience building ETL/ELT pipelines for core management reporting
• Exposure to event-driven and streaming architectures
• Master Data management and experience building and maintaining schemas and dictionaries
• Programming experience: PPython, Scala, Java
• Strong SQL expertise
• Batch and streaming infrastructure Kafka / Spark / PySpark / Fivetran / Airbyte / Meltano
• Cloud understanding: AWS/GCP
• Reporting tools: Tableau / Looker / Plotly / Kibana
• Relational Database Management: PostgreSQL / MariaDB MySQL / Oracle
