The Role
We’re looking for a Digital PR Lead to own and evolve our Digital PR strategy within a performance led digital marketing agency. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who can balance creative storytelling with data driven results, build trusted journalist and client relationships, and help scale a Digital PR function aligned with SEO and AI led search.
You’ll lead strategy and delivery across key client accounts, contribute to commercial growth, and play a central role in shaping how Digital PR is delivered across the agency.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Own and lead the agency’s Digital PR strategy, roadmap, and function, working closely with SEO, Content, and Leadership teams
- Set and uphold standards for outreach quality, journalist engagement, campaign ideation, and reporting
- Champion best practices across Digital PR, SEO, and AI driven search visibility
- Have the capability to line-manage and develop a small Digital PR team as the function scales later in the year
Client & Commercial Ownership
- Manage and grow senior client relationships across a portfolio of key accounts
- Act as a trusted strategic advisor, leading client communications, strategy calls, and performance reviews
- Identify and support upsell opportunities, contributing to PR led revenue growth
- Support new business pitches by leading Digital PR strategy development and presentation
Digital PR Strategy & Delivery
- Develop and execute proactive and reactive Digital PR campaigns across multiple industries
- Build, nurture, and leverage strong, long term relationships with journalists, editors, and media contacts
- Personally handle high-value journalist relationships and top-tier media opportunities
- Lead campaign ideation, storytelling, and content creation, including press releases, data-led stories, thought leadership, and comment-led PR
- Oversee the creation of campaign assets such as infographics and data visualisations, briefing and managing designers where required
- Monitor inbound journalist requests via ResponseSource, #JournoRequest, and similar platforms, and proactively identify trends and reactive opportunities
SEO, Data & Performance
- Ensure all Digital PR activity is tightly aligned with SEO objectives and organic growth goals
- Analyse and report on campaign performance using tools such as Ahrefs, GA4, and Google Search Console, turning insight into action
- Own reporting on link quality, relevance, and authority in line with client business objectives
- Monitor competitor PR strategies to identify gaps, opportunities, and emerging trends
AI, Innovation & Thought Leadership
- Stay at the forefront of developments in AI, LLMs, and generative search
- Adapt Digital PR strategies to maximise brand visibility and authority in AI-driven search environments
- Act as a visible thought leader for the agency, including:
- Comfortably posting and engaging on LinkedIn
- Sharing insights on Digital PR, SEO, AI, and media trends
- Supporting agency positioning through talks, webinars, or events where relevant
About You
- Proven experience in Digital PR or earned media, ideally within a digital marketing or SEO led agency
- You lead with clarity and accountability, consistent delivery against client KPIs, SLAs, and deliverables.
- Strong track record of delivering high Impact PR campaigns that drive links, authority, and measurable results
- Established relationships with journalists and editors across relevant publications
- Confident leading senior client relationships and strategic conversations
- Commercially aware, with experience supporting growth through upsell or new business activity
- Curious about AI and how search and media discovery are evolving
- A clear, confident communicator with strong written and storytelling skills
