Operations Lead

Rivan Industries (Rivan.com) is a synthetic fuel company designed to decarbonise heavy industry. We’ve developed a unique power-to-fuel machine built for low-capex deployment powered entirely by utility-scale solar. Here’s our manifesto that explains exactly what we believe and how we’re bringing our vision to life. We aim to make synthetic fuel cheaper than fossil fuels and sustain life on earth by keeping the CO2 locked underground. We’re looking for an Operations Lead to help accelerate 3 key areas of the business – Financial, Recruitment and Admin. The aim for this role is to find someone that has the capacity and learning ability to take on more responsibility over time and move towards a exec level role overseeing multiple teams operations.

The role:

• Operational execution
• Simplify and streamline key areas of the business with systems that speed up execution
• Financial operations (Procurement, Budgeting)
• Admin (Contracts, Leasing, travel, Accommodation)
• Recruitment (Candidate sourcing, execution of plan)
• Operational design
• Organisational efficiency
• Strategic Expansion opportunities

Core skills:

• 3+ years professional experience – doesn’t have to be in specific field
• Bachelors degree or equivalent
• Proof of work – what have you done before this that shows you can get stuff done fast and take on a lot of responsibility?

Questions we’d want you to have a strong understanding of:

• How would you think about increasing the speed of an organisations execution? How would you reason from the ground up?
• How would you reason for/against doing certain processes in-house or outsourcing?
• What matters to you in managing a team or a person specifically? What is your belief system around this?
• How do you think about building “systems” across business units? What does this mean to you?

• Where you have worked previously

Specifics:

• £50-70K Salary depending on experience
• Significant share options as part of the early team
• In-person work at our HQ in Bermondsey, South-East London
