As part of our Operations team, this role is at the heart of the Institute and involves interactions with colleagues across the team.

To thrive in this role you will need to have an excellent understanding of Salesforce and how it can best be used to support an ambitious and growing organisation. The role requires strong communication skills, patience and perseverance. Working to support teams with varying levels of Salesforce usage and knowledge, the role is key to align teams around Salesforce and ultimately ensure the Institute as a whole is taking full advantage of what the platform can offer.

We have big plans for the next few years, so we think this is an exciting and rare opportunity to help drive design, implementation and usage of a platform that will change the way we work.

Administrative management of Salesforce

oManage users, user profiles, licenses, permissions and permission sets

oOnboard new team members and develop training materials to aid with onboarding to our customised Salesforce Org

oTroubleshoot all user issues

oFully capture and document our Salesforce Org as it continues to evolve

oRegularly perform maintenance on the platform, checking that the system and all associated apps or software are kept up to date

Salesforce Org development

oUnderstand the varying needs of the different teams across the Froward Institute – how they’re using Salesforce, where it’s falling short and what more the platform can do to help us all stay better connected

oPrioritise and project manage required developments, whether that be building customised objects, setting up flows or assessing and implementing third party apps

oAdvise and recommend how to make best use of platform tools, including apps, features, automation, events, user interface, integrations and emails/notifications

oKeep abreast of the latest updates, tools and capabilities, considering and advising on potential opportunities and threats, consulting with and advising stakeholders accordingly

Making the most of our data

oEnsure data is meaningful for all team members – set up dashboards and reports which will disseminate information across the team in a helpful and user friendly way

oEnsure data connects the team to one another and is an accurate source for tracking interactions, project work and progression on programmes, via partner organisations and individuals

Driving usage and data compliance

oEnsure compliance across the team, in accordance with GDPR regulation

oCarefully consider visibility of required data across Salesforce users and within our wider network

oRegular cleaning of data to ensure it’s up to date and remains relevant

oDriving Salesforce usage across the team with a flexible and accommodating mindset; Salesforce should work for the Forward Institute rather than the other way round
