Backend Engineer (Monitoring)

Join Apollo Research as a Backend Engineer in our new AGI safety monitoring team. We are dedicated to transforming complex AI research into practical tools that mitigate risks from AI systems. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our CEO and other engineers to develop tools that enhance the safety of AI coding agents.

The role: As a Backend Engineer, you will design and implement scalable backend systems, develop RESTful APIs, and build data processing pipelines. You will also be involved in monitoring system performance and optimizing infrastructure to ensure efficient and secure operations.

Job requirements: We are looking for candidates with at least 4 years of experience in building production backend systems, strong proficiency in Python, and experience with cloud platforms and containerization technologies. Knowledge in designing RESTful APIs and a solid understanding of database design are crucial.
