Legal & Compliance Manager

THE ROLE As Apollo's first full-time legal hire, you will build and lead our legal and compliance functions from the ground up. This role involves establishing scalable systems and processes across UK, US, and select EU jurisdictions. You will set high-level strategic directions and handle hands-on execution, including commercial contracting, corporate legal, employment/HR, IP protection, statutory reporting, fundraising support, and compliance management. You will report to the COO daily and have the potential to grow into a General Counsel role.

JOB REQUIREMENTS You should have at least 4 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) as a mid- or senior-level associate at a law firm, or as an in-house legal counsel, preferably at a large technology company. Being qualified to practice law in at least one common-law jurisdiction, particularly the UK or US, is strongly preferred. You should be able to operate at high velocity in a lean, high-growth environment, have strong experience in drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, and be capable of leading negotiations. Experience in handling corporate legal matters across multiple jurisdictions and working with external counsels is essential.
