Counselor

ISSOS is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Counselors at our Cambridge location from July 4, 2026, to July 30, 2026. As a Counselor, you will be part of a team responsible for the welfare of up to 160 students aged 13-18 from over 80 countries.

The role: You will manage your own group of up to 15 students, acting as a positive role model and the first point of contact. Your responsibilities include overseeing the students' welfare, helping your group bond, running and participating in evening programs and sporting activities, and supervising cultural trips. Ensuring the students' happiness and safety is a priority at all times.

Job requirements: Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working with young people. A background in sports, music, theatre, dance, or other hobbies will be beneficial. Fluency in English is required. We are looking for individuals who are fun, don't take themselves too seriously, work well in a team, stay calm under pressure, and have clear and effective communication skills.

Benefits: Staff members receive £2,200 GBP for the session, with accommodation provided in all locations once students arrive. Meals are provided in the halls of residence. Travel expenses up to £150 for travel to/from Cambridge are reimbursed separately. Before the session begins, there is a three-day orientation for which staff are responsible for their meals.

Additional information: All staff must pass a full criminal background check. Applicants must be UK citizens or have the legal right to work in the UK, as we cannot sponsor visas.
