Role Summary:

  • Lead the Talent Management and Culture Division inclusive of Talent Development and Culture Section and the Talent Acquisition Section
  • Support the implementation of the ESA People Strategy
  • Develop talent management frameworks
  • Oversee recruitment processes
  • Be a key player in shaping the talent strategy and culture of ESA


Role Requirements:

  • Master's degree in relevant fields or a bachelor's degree with added experience
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in HR/talent management
  • Leadership experience with 10 years in management roles
  • Proficiency in digital, data, and methodologies like agile, design thinking, lean management

The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a Head of the Talent Management and Culture Division. This role is based within our Human Resources Department, which is a dynamic, international team of over 100 professionals. Our HR team delivers high-quality services to a workforce of more than 7,700 across the Agency.

The Role: You will be responsible for leading the Talent Management and Culture Division, which includes the Talent Development and Culture Section and the Talent Acquisition Section. Your main duties will involve supporting the implementation of the ESA People Strategy, developing talent management frameworks, and overseeing the recruitment processes. This role plays a key strategic role in shaping and fostering a skills-based talent strategy and a strong organisational culture.

Job Requirements: - A master's degree in human resources, business administration, engineering, law, or psychology, or a bachelor's degree with additional relevant experience. - At least 15 years of professional experience in HR/talent management. - Proven leadership skills with at least 10 years in management, including five years as a manager of managers or team leads. - Strong digital and data savviness and experience with methodologies such as agile, design thinking, and lean management.
