We're on a mission to inspire people to live a more adventure-rich life, help a global community of local businesses to make a great living doing what they love, and protect the world's wild places, one adventure at a time.

Our multi-award winning adventures are continually rated 5* by our tribe of loyal customers, we’re backed by some of Europe’s leading investors and entrepreneurs, and part-community owned. We just won ‘Best for Experiences 2022’ at the Travolution Awards, and are proud to be B-Corp Certified.

So if you get a kick out of supporting independent businesses around the world, and are in your element trekking, cycling, climbing mountains, kayaking or something equally exciting, you are in the right place.

The Role

We are on the lookout for an experienced Adventure Product Operations Manager to join our fast-growing, ambitious (and remote) team here at Much Better Adventures. Working in our Host Operations team, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of a portfolio of trips and work in partnership with our local hosts on the delivery, commercial performance and quality of the trips. You will manage a range of trips around the globe so a regional specialism isn’t necessary - what is more important is a meticulous eye for detail and a natural aptitude for relationship building.

Your role will be responsible for (but not be restricted to):

  • Managing a portfolio of trips - acting as the primary point of contact for hosts, and ensuring the smooth running of all departures.
  • Onboarding new hosts and creating relationships with hosts after new trip development (new trips are created by our Adventure Expansion Team solely, so new product development is not part of this role).
  • Annual re-contracting and negotiation of rates with hosts.
  • Capacity management to ensure our revenues are optimised.
  • Assisting with safety assessments, ensuring compliance with our safety requirements and incident management.
  • Reviewing product performances, identifying and actioning necessary improvements based on your own knowledge and customer feedback.
  • Thinking smart, systematically and in a logical way about how to refine our systems and processes for working with our ever-expanding team of local hosts.

Each day you’ll be…

  • Building relationships with our hosts and ensuring their trips are delivered to the highest standard.
  • Working closely with the CX team to help them respond to customer questions.
  • Ensuring the trip pages are accurate and hosts have a good understanding of how to use our systems.
  • Championing our hosts within the company to ensure we’re providing them with the right tools to run trips for our community.
  • Reviewing product performance, and responding to feedback from hosts and customers to continually improve the quality of our trips.
  • Play a role in designing and improving our Host Operations to help scale the business quickly and efficietly.

Requirements

  • You have significant experience (4+ years) in Adventure Operations and / or Product Management within the adventure, travel or outdoor sector.
  • You have previous commercial experience, including contracting and negotiating with suppliers.
  • You constantly strive to make improvements to systems, workflows and processes.
  • You pride yourself on your meticulous attention to detail.
  • You are a self-starter who can make decisions and confidently manage your own workload with minimal supervision.
  • You are an effective communicator with excellent written and spoken English and strong interpersonal skills.
  • You are able to work under pressure, learn and adapt quickly, and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • You are flexible, thrive on change, are self-driven and able to work independently as part of a remote team.
  • What we’re doing here at MBA excites you!

We’re a bunch of team-players, so it’s important you’re happy getting involved in tasks (big or small) outside your remit when required. As a fast growing business your responsibilities may change but we always look to promote from within and provide opportunities to develop your career based on your personal ambitions.

Benefits

  • Salary: £41,000-£45,000 depending on experience plus stock options and other benefits

  • 38 days holiday (inclusive of public holidays)

  • Flexible hours and remote working (within +2/-2 GMT)
