Role Summary

  • Conduct research and manage projects as part of a dynamic team.

Role Requirements

  • Must have a PhD in geography or sustainable development.
  • Experience of fieldwork and research in tropical countries is required.
  • Need strong track record in financial management and reporting.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written French is essential.
  • Should be able to work independently and have project management skills.

The role: We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate who is fluent in French to join our dynamic team. This role combines research and project management and is part of two projects funded by Rio Tinto and the Global Centre for Biodiversity and Climate. The projects focus on 'Improved Forest Carbon Estimates in the Republic of Guinea' and 'Using biodiversity to support climate resilient livelihoods in intact tropical peatlands'.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have a PhD in geography or sustainable development, experience conducting fieldwork and research in tropical countries, and a proven track record in financial management and reporting. Project management experience, the ability to work independently, and proficiency in spoken and written French are essential.
