About the role     

The Capital Markets Officer will support the effective delivery of the A4S global strategy with a focus on driving engagement and action within the Capital Markets.  

To transform the global economy and build a sustainable future, A4S is working with global financial and investment communities to integrate environmental and social considerations into all aspects of financing and investment decision making, ultimately to help redirect flows of finance and investment towards sustainable outcomes and away from unsustainable ones. A4S uses its networks, convening power and technical credibility to inspire, transform and scale up efforts by capital market leaders to create steps to accelerate change. The role of the Capital Markets Officer is to support the Capital Markets team deliver our strategy across this community, ensuring alignment and collaboration with A4S’s other programmes including the CFO Leadership Programme and the Academy. 

Working in a fast moving, busy and innovative team, the job holder will support a diverse range of A4S projects and activities with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and must therefore have a pro-active and flexible approach to their work. The post holder will have a wide range of opportunities to develop further new skills, including communication, presentation, organizational and technical, in a dynamic environment.   

 Responsibilities of the role will include:  

  • Managing processes for the A4S’s Asset Owners Network. This will include: managing all logistics and papers for network meetings; coordinating efforts to grow the Network; researching and supporting the creation of appropriate content for Network members; monitoring member engagement and communicating key opportunities and information to members.  
  • Supporting the development of new resources for our ESG Toolkit for Chairs and Trustees and updating the associated webpages accordingly. 
  • Researching and producing summaries of the latest reports and policy releases in sustainable finance. 
  • Monitoring and tracking KPIs using Salesforce, Google Analytics and MS Excel, identifying key trends and feeding back to the team on areas that may need improvement. 
  • Developing materials to support the capital markets work, and wider A4S programmes where needed, e.g. PowerPoint presentations for A4S colleagues speaking at events, event and speaker briefs). 
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with relevant stakeholders including NGOs, regulators, industry associations, and identifying opportunities to collaborate. 
  • Ensuring the successful and professional delivery of the Capital Markets operational and logistical requirements. 

About you     

You will have good experience in project managing multiple deliverables, strong relationship management with both internal and external stakeholders including senior professionals.

Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to produce analyses and reports for management audiences, use their own initiative to progress work, and manage competing demands in a work environment. 

You will have excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of Salesforce (or another CRM), as well as excellent written and oral communication skills with experience in drafting research pieces, briefs, reports, and other materials. 

Experience and/or interest in capital markets would be an advantage.
