The Social Impact team’s mission is to guide Coursera’s integrated social impact strategy, including donating licenses to help underserved communities transform their lives through learning. We provide access to high-quality education that supports personal development, career advancement and economic opportunity. Through our social impact programs, we work with nonprofit and community organizations to provide free access to our learning resources. 

We’re looking for a results-driven Social Impact Manager to contribute to this vision, implement business strategies, build strategic partnerships and drive meaningful programs that ensure everyone, everywhere has access to high-quality education and opportunity. As a Program Manager for our Social Impact team, you will be responsible for understanding the greatest issues facing underserved populations across our society today, defining how Coursera will genuinely move the needle on several of them, and strategically working across Coursera to make that impact a reality. You will assist in developing strategic partnerships to provide targeted populations with access to Coursera, maintaining and managing our position and brand presence as a certified B Corp, working collaboratively with our People Team on employee engagement, and working cross functionally on corporate responsibility and ESG issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to a strategic vision for social impact at Coursera, understanding  educational challenges for underserved populations at a global level
  • Develop and manage strategic social impact partnerships with NGOs, and engage with stakeholders at a technical level to deliver platform trainings and onboarding, as well as troubleshooting customer issues as they arise
  • Devise and be accountable for impact metrics to measure and evaluate success across social impact initiatives
  • Engage with NGOs and international thought leaders to create new, scalable partnerships across sectors
  • Develop tailored pitch kits, presentations, and marketing material for business development, program support, and reporting
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (legal, finance, people, marketing/communications) to ensure Coursera’s brand presence as a certified B Corp and participate as a thought leader on corporate responsibility and ESG issues

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years public and private sector experience in the government, non-profit, or social impact space
  • Demonstrated experience cultivating external partnerships, including the ability to bring on new strategic partners, align on shared interest, negotiate terms and finalize agreements, and bring new programs to reality
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects, including the ability to spearhead new strategic initiatives, tackle large, complex projects, and manage senior-level external stakeholders 
  • Experiencethriving in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and to juggle  managing multiple workstreams and strategic priorities simultaneously
  • Demonstrated historyof analytical and creative-problem solving abilities, organizational, and operational skills
  • Backgroundbuilding strategic partnerships, collaborating with executive-level stakeholders, and speaking as a thought-leader in this space

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous corporate CSR / ESG experience preferred
  • Written and verbal communication skills; ability to listen well, provide sound reasoning grounded in data, strategy, and empathy
  • Experience working with global teams
  • Experience developing and presenting high-level presentations
  • Experience using Salesforce preferred
  • Experience thriving in a fast paced, ever changing environment

Compensation:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base pay for this role is between $111,000 and $177,000 for all US candidates. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
