Role Summary -
- Lead the development and influence of suicide prevention policies.

- Hybrid work model with some in-person collaboration at our Ewell office.
Role Requirements -
- Experience in policy or public affairs with an ability to influence change.
- Able to turn complex information into clear policy insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement experience.
- Knowledge of mental health or suicide prevention.
- Additional experience in the charity sector, familiarity with Samaritans, or research processes is desirable.

About the Role: As a Policy Officer, you will lead the development and influencing of policy positions on suicide prevention. Your responsibilities include using research and evidence to produce high-quality briefings, consultation responses, and reports. You will build strong relationships both internally and externally, monitor the policy environment, and work collaboratively across the charity to communicate and advance our policy work. This role is based on a hybrid working model with a link to our Ewell office, requiring in-person collaboration approximately 2 days or more per month.
Job Requirements: You should have experience in policy or public affairs with an understanding of how to influence national/local change. A strong ability to turn complex information into clear policy insights and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. You should also have strong project management and stakeholder engagement experience. Knowledge of mental health or suicide prevention issues is crucial, with additional experience in the charity sector, familiarity with Samaritans, or research processes being desirable.
