Operations Officer
Job ID: 061225
Salary: £34,502 per annum, including London Weighting Allowance
Business unit: King's Business School
Department: King's Entrepreneurship Institute
Strand Campus
This role offers someone the opportunity to both improve the efficiency, productivity, and way of working in the team at the process level, while also directly working with our audiences and start-ups to maximise participation on and engagement with our programmes. We are therefore looking for some who enjoys both technical behind-the-scenes work but is also confident interacting with and energising others in a front-facing way.
On the Department Operations side, you will be responsible for carrying out key administrative and co-ordination tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient financial, office, events and data management in the department. You will also be expected to spot problems and opportunities for improvement, generate ideas to respond to these and come up with plans to implement process changes with others in the team. You will also manage external relationships with suppliers.
On the Programme Operations side, you will offer operational and administrative support but also undertake creative projects related to community activation which are student, staff and alumni-facing. The aim of these will be to animate our on-campus and digital spaces in both established programmes like our King’s20 Accelerator, as well as some of our newer work related to Student Superstars (paid work experience placements) and Student Groups. You will also seize opportunities to involve our communities in related King’s programmes and initiatives.
The Entrepreneurship Institute is a department with an agile start-up culture within a historic and large organisation. A key advantage of this is that the department can accelerate action on King’s-wide strategic priorities that intersect with entrepreneurship, like Sustainability, Widening Participation and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. You who be passionate about the role you and the department can play in addressing wider societal issues through the promotion of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial thinking.
You will report directly to the Operations Manager and will work collaboratively across the Entrepreneurship Institute team as well as with relevant central departments.
