Samaritans is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing suicide. We offer a range of training services through our Training and Engagement Programme (STEP), which caters to organizations that want to train their staff effectively in supporting those struggling to cope. As a Learning and Development Officer, your role will be crucial in delivering this programme.

Role Summary:

  • Manage the entire customer journey from initial inquiry to course delivery and evaluation.
  • Coordinate training sessions and provide support to Associate Trainers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with our client base, thereby generating income and expanding our training services' reach.

Role Requirements:

  • Experience in business development and income generation, preferably within a training environment.
  • Proven skills in event or training course administration and organization.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer service mindset.
  • Experience in a client-facing role.
  • Experience in delivering or facilitating training in a corporate environment is desirable but not essential.

The role: As a Learning and Development Officer based in Ireland, you will play a crucial role in delivering STEP. Your responsibilities will include managing the entire customer journey from initial inquiry to course delivery and follow-up evaluation. You will coordinate training sessions, support Associate Trainers, and occasionally deliver training yourself. A significant part of your role will be to build and maintain relationships with a portfolio of customers, thereby generating income and expanding the reach of our training services.

Job requirements: We are looking for candidates with experience in business development and income generation, preferably within a training environment. You should have proven skills in event or training course administration and organization, and be capable of managing a varied workload with competing priorities. Strong communication skills and a customer service mindset are essential, as is experience in a client-facing role. Experience in delivering or facilitating training in a corporate environment is desirable but not essential.
