A simple idea – a travel company that uses exploration as a force for good – was born on the Great Steppe in 1989 by founder Nick Laing. Since then, we’ve made it our purpose to carefully create pioneering journeys in the world’s far-flung places.

The primary role is to generate sales above and beyond a given target via the creation and implementation of tailor-made travel itineraries. Providing exceptional client service and sharing ideas with peers within the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating high end, bespoke tailor-made travel itinerariesEnsure product is aligned with Steppes Positive Impact Travel ethosEngaging with clients to ensure excellent customer care before, during and after travelMeet and exceed sales targetsFollowing up on leads & client feedback

Skills/Experience required

  • Excellent written, oral and sales skills
  • Maintain extremely high standards of customer service – communicating with suppliers and clients
  • High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a pressurised environment and to strict deadlines
  • Positive attitude towards teamwork, interpersonal and communication skillsComputer office skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel etc
  • Strong organisational skills
  • A willingness to be stretched in reaching demanding sales targets
  • A team player with personality, knowledge, and commitment to the Steppes Travel concept of supplying high quality tailor-made holidays.
  • Experience of working within the travel industry creating high end tailor-made itineraries

Terms/Conditions

  • Hours of work – 09:00 – 17:30 hours, Monday to Thursday and 09:00 – 17:00 Friday.
  • Very occasional weekends and evenings if attending an event or travelling abroad on familiarisation trips
  • Up to two working days per week from home
  • Paid Holidays – 20 days (increasing after two years of continuous employment)Salary – dependent on experience
  • Pension, Private Healthcare and Travel Insurance – contributory after a six-month probationary periodIndividual and team performance bonus
