The People team at Coursera is responsible for building our teams, retaining our amazing talent, and developing programs that create community and promote employee betterment. Our People Operations team not only acts as the first point of contact for HR-related concerns for employees, but the team also helps drive operational effectiveness through documentation and education, automation, and targeted communications. In addition, this team is also responsible for leading U.S. and Canada benefits, compliance, and immigration. We are looking for a Senior Manager, People Operations to lead our NAMER team, provide guidance, and strategic direction to evolve and enhance our programs and employee support. The ideal candidate for this role thrives in a fast-paced environment and is excited about leading change efforts to help drive efficiency and scalability. It will be second nature for the person in this role to draft a process map to show process improvement opportunities identified through data, as well as always ensuring there are up-to-date operating procedures. This role will report directly to our Director, Global People Operations.
Responsibilities
The Senior Manager, People Operations will:
- Manage a team responsible for providing full employee life cycle support, a Specialist managing Americas Benefits, Compliance, Immigration, Global Mobility, and Immigration, and a Specialist dedicated to People Systems, including Workday
- Your team will be responsible for driving continuous Workday operational efficiencies, in close partnership with our People Tech team and configuration vendor
- You and your team will manage our ticketing tool, ServiceNow. You will drive continuous operational efficiencies within ServiceNow to help promote self-service and automation. ServiceNow and use the functionality to offer operational insights and service data to stakeholders
- Develop and monitor ServiceNow metrics to identify future opportunities
- Actively engage in problem/conflict resolution, providing coaching, counseling, training, and development, as needed
- Own HR compliance for Americas in close partnership with legal and finance on everything from EEO-1 filings, 5550s, OSHA, Wage and Hour laws, etc.
- Support Americas Benefit administration in partnership with your team
Basic Qualifications
- Possesses strong HR Generalist human resources knowledge and experience
- Strong U.S. Benefit, leave of absence, immigration, compliance, and Workday knowledge
- Experience managing a People Operations ticketing tool and leveraging metrics from the tool
- Demonstrated people management experience
- Demonstrated experience in leading a People Operations team
- Experience with improving and automating operational processes and identifying opportunities for process improvement
- Proactive and collaborative work style
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive experience in HR Operations
- 3-5 years of people management experience
- ServiceNow experience a plus

Compensation
Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base pay for this role is between $111,000 and $242,000 for all US candidates. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
