Role Summary:
- Conduct research to validate ideas and develop them into well-structured memos, blogs and presentations.
- Outline issues, opportunities and goals to strengthen program and fund materials.
- Draft and develop tailormade fundraising proposals addressing specific foundation funders priorities.
- Review and edit existing materials to ensure they are clear and persuasive for a funder audience.

Renaissance Philanthropy is seeking a skilled researcher and editor to help translate ideas into concept notes, fundraising materials, and memos. This role is a part-time hourly contract engagement, offering an hourly rate of $50-$100 based on experience and expertise. The position is hybrid, with a preference for candidates near our main office hubs in London, New York, Washington D.C., and San Francisco, although we are flexible with exceptional candidates.
The role: As a Consultant, you will conduct research to evaluate and validate ideas, strengthen concepts by collating relevant data and analysis, and flesh out ideas into more fully formed concept memos, blogs, or presentations. You will also develop and strengthen program and fund materials based on conversations with leaders, outlining the problems, opportunities, theories of change, and goals. Additionally, you will draft and develop fundraising proposals tailored to specific foundation funders and their stated priorities, and review and edit existing program and fund materials to sharpen clarity and voice for a funder audience.
Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have an exceptional ability to translate complex, technical, and nuanced ideas into clear, precise, and persuasive narratives and written materials. A highly collaborative working style and comfort operating iteratively alongside a lean, fast-moving team are crucial. Familiarity with scientific and technical domains, as well as philanthropy, is preferred.
