Role Summary:

  • As a Youth and Family Participation Coordinator, work under the Participation Manager to develop programmes for community groups, schools, and youth organisations.
  • Build partnerships that promote sustained engagement with underserved audiences.
  • Contribute to audience growth at Wakehurst by identifying participation trends and developing targeted outreach approaches.


Role Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people, families, and community groups, especially in outreach and partnership development.
  • A strong track record of building relationships with schools, youth organisations, and community partners.
  • Experience developing new participation initiatives and embedding inclusive practices within programmes will be an added advantage.
  • An Enhanced DBS Check is required.

The role: As a Youth and Family Participation Coordinator, you will work closely with the Participation Manager to shape and develop programmes using collaborative approaches with community groups, schools, and youth organisations. This includes building partnerships that support sustained engagement with underserved audiences and encourage young people and families to explore ongoing opportunities within Wakehurst. You will play a key role in contributing to the growth of youth and family audiences at Wakehurst by identifying participation trends, developing targeted outreach approaches, and working with partners to remove barriers to participation and improve access to engagement opportunities.

Job requirements: We are looking for someone with significant experience of working with young people, families, and community groups, with a strong emphasis on outreach and partnership development. You should have a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with schools, youth organisations, and community partners, and of successfully bringing new audiences into programmes or engagement opportunities. An Enhanced DBS Check is required for this role. Experience of developing new participation initiatives, and embedding inclusive practice within programmes, as well as knowledge of evaluation and safeguarding, would be beneficial.
