The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (RBG Kew) is at the forefront of plant and fungal sciences and offers an exciting opportunity to join them as an Innovation and Consultancy Manager.
Role Summary:
- Coordinate projects involving RBG Kew staff undertaken by Kew REACH
- Identify and develop novel ideas for spin outs in collaboration with the broader Innovation team while managing the relationship with Greensphere Capital
- Overall coordination and management of all commercial consultancy opportunities across Kew
Role requirements:
- PhD level qualification, or equivalent experience, ideally in plant and fungal science
- Interest in innovation and knowledge exchange from the academic sector to the real world
- Effective communication skills and experience in client-oriented project coordination
- Experience in project management is desirable

The role: As the Innovation and Consultancy Manager, you will have three main responsibilities. Firstly, you will coordinate projects that involve RBG Kew staff undertaken by Kew REACH. Secondly, you will identify and develop novel ideas for spin outs in collaboration with the broader Innovation team while managing the relationship with Greensphere Capital. Lastly, you will be responsible for the overall coordination and management of all commercial consultancy opportunities across Kew.
Job requirements: We seek an individual qualified to PhD level, or with PhD equivalent experience, ideally in plant and fungal science, with a keen interest in innovation and knowledge exchange from the academic sector into the real world. Effective communication skills and experience in coordination of client-oriented projects are essential. Project management experience would be beneficial.
