*this role is open to remote working within the UK. Successful candidates will be required to travel to their closest UNiDAYS campus (London or Nottingham) on occasion.

The role in a nutshell

As interim Corporate Counsel, you report to our Senior Corporate Counsel and will work with our legal team to provide advice and support for our rapidly growing business on a wide range of legal matters across the globe while our GC is on parental leave.  The range of work may include employment matters, commercial matters and ad hoc legal requests. You will be a part of a fast-moving, collaborative legal team that impacts all go-to-market aspects of the business.This opportunity will be full-time for 6 months.

Day to day responsibilities 

  • Drafting and negotiating corporate contracts, including global master service agreements, vendor agreements, and confidentiality agreements;
  • Drafting templates, guidance documents and summary guides;
  • Developing policies and processes;
  • Identifying and mitigating legal and commercial risk;
  • Researching laws across a multitude of global regions; and
  • Provide practical guidance in a clear and concise way on a wide range of ad hoc projects.

What we need from you

  • Extensive PQE;
  • Experience with commercial transactions, preferably with direct engagement with in-house stakeholders in the provision of strategic advice;
  • Excellent academics and private practice training; in-house experience (including via secondments) preferred;
  • Ability to analyse commercial or corporate issues, provide succinct solutions and present those solutions in an appropriate manner for stakeholders;
  • Confidence in analysing and providing advice on areas of law falling outside of formal experience (e.g. employment or alternate jurisdictions) through the application of generic commercial law principles;
  • Ability to work with diverse, cross-functional teams including global interactions; and
  • Well-organised, detail-oriented, and accountable with a high degree of professionalism, diplomacy, discretion and judgement.
