General Manager 

Skuna Boats was launched in 2017 with a mission to provide a unique water-based experience. Since then we have grown to become an award-winning experience and one of London's most loved tourist attractions. 

We currently offer two experiences with our Hot Tub and BBQ boats. 

We are looking for a General Manager to lead our teams at our London locations (Canary Wharf & Lakeside Shopping Centre). The role will ensure the smooth and safe delivery of our experiences and managing site operations and our teams.

You will work closely with the founders as Skuna Boats looks to expand across the UK & Ireland. 

The Person

We are looking for a highly organised, customer-focused leader who is looking for a role in an exciting scale-up company. The role will work across our London locations and a significant amount of time will be spent outdoors. You will manage all aspects of our business from day-to-day operations to ensure the business exceeds its financial targets. 

Your skills and experience

  • At least 7 years management experience within leisure, or hospitality in a similar role.
  • A can-do, give-me-a-problem-and-I'll-solve-it spirit
  • Sharp eye for detail and very diligent with safety and service
  • People-Focused and a great motivator, who leads by example with a hands-on approach.
  • Strong business manager who understands P&L and contract management.
  • Works well within a team environment
  • Remains calm under pressure and always positive when faced with challenges.
  • Willing to work a mixture of shifts throughout the week including evenings and weekends
  • Marine experience - it is required that you have experience of the marine industry, preferably in a professional capacity but not essential
  • Ability to multitask, set priorities and manage time effectively
  • Confident on and around water 
  • Knowledge and understanding of maintenance procedures
  • Strong computer skills

The Role

  • Manage day-to-day operations and our customer experience. This is a hands-on role
  • Take a lead on ensuring our health and safety processes are second to none
  • Lead and train our teams, monitor team performance and conduct regular appraisals and meetings
  • Oversee our bookings team
  • Ensure our vessels and equipment are maintained and safe to operate at all times.
  • Stakeholder management
  • Monitor and manage company performance vs budget
