We are looking for a highly motivated Lead IT Software Tester to collaborate with colleagues to manage the product delivery roadmap and to realise the organisation’s digital requirements.   

Lead IT Software Tester – The Role 

  • Test the output of a single in-house scrum development team building ecological products.  
  • Collaborate with colleagues to define test cases based on stories acceptance criteria. 
  • Develop manual/automated testing frameworks & processes that will support continuous testing within sprints scrum, UAT & ongoing releases. 
  • Define approaches & tools to test non Functional requirements. 
  • Write & maintain manual and automated testing scripts. 
  • Execute testing scripts within sprints, UAT or release testing. 
  • Responsible for maintaining all testing artefacts & reporting all test cycles results with key issues.

This role has a UK based contract and as such, you must have the right to live and work in the UK.  You’ll be required to work at your contracted office, 1 Occam Court, Surrey Research Park, Guildford, GU2 7HJ and will need to be able to commute to this location.

This is a Hybrid based position, with the expectation that the successful applicant will attend the office 2-3 days a month. Travel to HQ is at your own expense.

MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB  

The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the IT department on managing the Product delivery roadmap and with other members of the Product organisation on realising their digital requirements.  The role reports to the Head of Digital Products. 

The successful candidate will be able to be our single testing resource for testing the output of a single in-house scrum development deal building ecological products.  

  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES  

  • Collaborate with the Business analysts, UX resources and Digital product owner to define test cases based on stories acceptance criteria  
  • Develop a manual and automated testing framework  that will support continuous testing  within sprints scrum, UAT and ongoing releases 
  • Define approaches and tools to test non Functional requirements e.g. performance, security etc  
  • Write and maintain manual and automated testing scripts 
  • Execute testing scripts within sprints, UAT or release testing 
  • Device a system to report and monitor prioritised  issues for resolution.  
  • Responsible for maintaining all testing artefacts 
  • Responsible to reporting all test cycles results with key issues 
  • Responsible for creating a testing processes and framework  

PERSON SPECIFICATION   

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE  

  • 3+ year’s experience in manual testing and 1 year in testing automation

  • Clear and concise written and spoken communication skills   
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills   
  • Delivery focused with a passion for quality and innovation, a flexible and adaptable attitude and willing to accept and drive change
