Role Summary

  • As an Assistant Financial Accountant, you will provide crucial financial services that support the operations of Kew.
  • You will report directly to the Financial Accountant and ensure all financial processes and systems are effective and meet the organization's needs.

Role Requirements

  • Part-qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with experience in financial accounting, including journaling and reconciliations.
  • Excellent Excel and financial reporting skills.
  • Responsibilities include maintenance of financial recods, meeting month-end deadlines, and driving system improvements.

The role: As an Assistant Financial Accountant, you will support Kew's mission by delivering timely and accurate financial accounting services, enabling effective decision-making by senior leadership, the Executive Board, and Trustees. Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you will ensure the critical financial processes that underpin Kew's operations are working effectively and meeting the needs of the organisation as we work to deliver our Manifesto for Change.

Job requirements: You will be a part-qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with strong experience in financial accounting including preparing and posting journals, preparing reconciliations, and resolving differences. You will also have excellent Excel skills and experience in reporting financial information. Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring month-end deadlines are consistently met, keeping Kew's fixed asset register up to date, supporting the organisation in relation to financial accounting, systems and tax, ensuring financial processes are appropriate and improving efficiency in conjunction with your manager, supporting the year-end accounts production, and providing first-level support for our Unit 4 Agresso system, managing user access and permissions, and driving system improvements.
