Kew Gardens is renowned for its diverse collection of living plants, making it one of the most significant botanic gardens globally. Our horticultural teams are dedicated to maintaining our gardens to inspire a lifelong appreciation of plants and the natural world.

The role: As a volunteer, you will assist our horticulturalists in maintaining the high standards of our Temperate Collections. Your tasks will include basic garden maintenance such as weeding, edging, mulching, clearing, raking, and pruning. This role is particularly suited for those who enjoy being outdoors and are available to commit regularly for at least 12 months.

Job requirements: We are looking for volunteers who have a basic knowledge of gardening and horticulture, can work well within a team, and are flexible and reliable. It is essential that you are willing to learn and adhere to Kew's values and volunteer policies.

Benefits: Volunteers at Kew Gardens receive a full induction and ongoing support, clear tasks and responsibilities, and the opportunity to learn about our living collections. Travel expenses are reimbursed up to a daily cap.
