So Energy was created in 2015 because we know there’s never a good reason to have a bad experience with your energy provider. Since then our renewable energy business has grown rapidly, with over 300,000 customers and 300+ So Energist and we aren’t done. Our next goal is to supply renewable energy to 1 million UK customers by the end of 2026 and we are going to succeed in that mission by leveraging technology, remaining customer-centric and hiring people with a passion for sustainability. Please be aware this is a UK based role as hybrid working in our West London office is expected.

The Role: Please note- this is a hybrid role, based in the UK and we're only able to consider candidates in the UK.

At So Energy, we put the customer at the heart of what we do. The Marketing Manager is a hands-on, creative, and strategic thinker with a passion and dedication to producing exceptional work, always putting the audience at the heart of everything they do.

They are an influencer within the company, helping execute projects of all sizes, and completing them with resourcefulness and dedication, taking the initiative to challenge briefs and exceed expectations. Open-minded and collaborative, the Marketing Manager will inspire and enjoys being inspired.

They look to make changes to deliver value for our business and customer engagement with our brand, delivering energy products and service propositions into our customer's homes. This role champions the voice of our customers through all engagement channels, creating a narrative, strengthening our brand identity, promoting products/services and pushing forward our internal and external content.

Duties:

  • Plan, develop, and lead So Energy’s marketing function owning, developing, and delivering on annual marketing plans, successful marketing campaigns and budgets (quarterly and annual). Identify innovative growth strategies and raise brand awareness ensuring programmes meet targets and objectives.
  • Day-to-day management, promotion and positioning of the So Energy brand, products and services, developing strategies and tactics to boost the company’s reputation and drive qualified traffic.
  • Help create and guide our sales and marketing growth across core energy services and renewable energy products and services, adapting with market growth, helping fine tune our reach to new customers and retain existing ones.
  • Establish measures of success and supporting metrics to track and target marketing spend, activity and key performance, such as website traffic, audience engagement, service quotas, bounce rate, ad spend, return on investment, etc.
  • Relevant SEO experience using Google Analytics and relevant dashboards, including PPC campaigns for all major search and social platforms. Track, measure and provide reports.
  • Develop proactive communications and planning, including acquisition, retention and launch initiatives, own the relationship with the external PR agency and initiatives.
  • Understanding the customer and business problems to solve, developing a plan with clear content route to market that is effective and measured.
  • Quickly grasp complex problems and be the central contact to guide on regulatory communications. Understand and align on current market and trade impacts to enable pivoting utilising communication channels to reach customers. Ensure all marketing activity complies with advertising standards, customer codes of practice, regulation and GDPR.
  • Prepare concise monthly marketing reports to be shared in several forums including business review meetings, committees, and senior stakeholder engagement.
  • Help develop a consistent voice and image in-line with brand and company goals. Help increase trust and assurance with key content. Approving content to be published and ensuring it meets the high quality required.
  • Develop customer and industry insights to inform longer term strategic planning.
  • Comfortable with “rolling up sleeves” to get a job done.

Requirements

  • Proven experience developing clear, compelling marketing strategies and tactics, identifying target audiences, and creatively developing and leading cross-channel marketing campaigns that engage, educate and motivate.
  • Maximise customer retention, reduce churn and foster customer loyalty, identify market trends, plan campaigns, and use web analytic tools to analyse the performance of marketing campaigns.
  • Adept data insights experience, establishing a process for research and how to use data points and insight to evaluate and support the rationale for campaigns, owning reporting and data dashboards to support marketing initiatives.
  • Develop strong relationships to inspire confidence in stakeholders, communicate the thinking behind the work, and show self-assurance with your presentation and storytelling.
  • Business partner with Sales, Product, Data, Product Design and Creative teams to maximising retention, reducing customer churn by creating programs which create long term customer loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Experimentation focused, utilising data analysis to build on propensity modelling to test and learn campaign value. Experiment with a variety of organic and paid acquisition channels such as content creation, content curation, pay per click campaigns, PR, social media, lead generation campaigns, etc.
  • Care about details and are excited to keep pushing work forward. Embraces change for the better and has the energy and drive to work within a fast-paced environment. Thrives on delivering work that they are proud of but not precious and can take feedback.
  • Strong lateral creative thinking, think beyond the obvious and balance tactical and strategic viewpoints.
  • Expert in developing and implementing digital marketing strategies across multiple channels, including social media advertising, email marketing, display ads, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Pay Per Click (PPC)
  • High levels of motivation and perseverance with a strong sense of belief in your ideas with the confidence to express them, coupled with a flexible approach and willingness to adapt your ideas to customer needs and commercial objectives.
  • Good time-management skills and ability to manage workloads, priorities, and varied projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially when presenting ideas to senior management.
