Role Summary

  • Providing essential administrative support for the Millennium Seed Bank's training team.
  • Responsibilities include managing training bookings, maintaining a contact database, making travel arrangements for trainees and administering invoices and fees using finance management software.
  • Identify and share best practices for effective administrative processes with the team.

Role Requirements

  • Expertise in Microsoft applications and recent experience in an administrative role.
  • Aptitude to work both individually and as part of a team, with exceptional organisational, numerical and communication skills.
  • Experience in procurement services and products. Desirable knowledge within a training team in a scientific organisation and use of virtual learning platforms for training management.

The role: As a Science Education Administrator within the Millennium Seed Bank's training team at RBG Kew, you will provide crucial administrative support for trainees, science visitors, and training courses. Responsibilities include managing training bookings, maintaining a contact database, making travel arrangements for trainees, and administering invoices and fees using finance management software. You will also identify and share best practices for the effective administration of training with science education colleagues.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate will be an expert in the use of Microsoft applications and have recent experience in an administrative role. You should have proven ability to work both as part of a team and independently, demonstrate excellent organisational skills, a professional approach, and strong numerical and communication skills. Experience in procurement of services and products is essential. Experience within a training and education team in a scientific organisation and using virtual learning platforms for training management would be desirable.
