Job Title: DataProtection Officer and Head of Operational Risk Oversight for Cyber & Transformation 
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday (09:00-17:00) 
Salary: Competitive and up to 20% bonus and benefits 
Location: Flexible, we could support fully remote or hybrid working from any of our UK offices in London, Cardiff, Durham, Manchester, or Blackpool

The main purpose of the role is to help improve our management of data and serve as the main point of contact between Tandem Bank and the Information Commissioners Office. The role holder will also provide operational risk oversight of both Cyber and Transformation Risks.

Our Team

The DPO and Head of Oversight for Cyber and Transformation are part of the Enterprise and Operational Risk Team which in turn are part of the Tandem Bank Risk Function which is led by the Chief Risk Officer.

What you will be working on:

• Acting as the Data Protection Officer for Tandem Bank, providing expert advice and guidance on all Data Protection requirements. 
• Developing and implementing an independent oversight model for cyber, change  and transformation risks across Tandem Bank.
• Evaluating the existing Data Protection Framework across Tandem Bank and implement enhancements/remediate any issues.
• Collaborating with colleagues across all three lines of defence to support enhanced Data Protection and risk management. 
• Providing strategic insight and capability to identify and drive organisational preparedness for emerging threats relating to Data, Cyber and Transformation. 
• Actively promote a positive and strong risk culture across the business.  

What we're looking for:

Essential: 

• Minimum of three years’ experience in Data Protection compliance in the Banking industry 
• Expertise in Data Protection laws, regulations and practices 
• Experience in risk management within a Financial Services Organisation
• Experience in the oversight of Cyber & Transformation risks 
• Insight and capability to identify and drive organisational preparedness for emerging threats within Data, Cyber and Transformation
• Ability to work collaboratively across all three lines of defence
• Proven ability to promote a positive and strong risk culture throughout the Business
• Ability to form effective relationships and provide challenge
• Strong understanding of Operational Risk Management Frameworks, end to end including Operational Risk systems, policies and Regulatory requirements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with good attention to detail  

Desirable: 

• Graduate
• Relevant professional qualification
• Strong presentation skills at Executive and Board level
• Strong Project Management skills
• Understanding of Retail Banking products (mortgages, asset finance, savings, finance and treasury)
