Job Title: Business Continuity and Operational Resilience Manager  
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday (09:00-17:00) 
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 and up to 20% bonus and benefits 
Location: Cardiff (hybrid working)

We’re building an amazing team and we’re looking for an ambitious and purpose-driven Business Continuity and Operational Resilience Manager. Reporting to the Head of Quality Service, the Business Continuity and Operational Resilience manager has responsibility for developing, embedding and managing Tandem’s Operational Resilience and Business Continuity capabilities.

Reporting to Senior Business Consultant, the Operational Resilience & Business Continuity Manager will be responsible for developing, embedding and managing Tandem’s Operational Resilience and Business Continuity capabilities and ensuring the resilience of our Critical Business Services as we continue to grow. If you’re innovative, curious and not afraid of a challenge, we’d love to hear from you. Our Team 
The role sits within 1st Line in the Operations function, the team are responsible for servicing customers across our product mix and delivering excellent customer outcomes. 

As the Operational Resilience & Business Continuity Manager you will be responsible for ensuring Tandem remain compliant with Regulatory requirements by embedding the Operational Resilience Framework across all business units. You will also be responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing testing of a Business Continuity capability that gives Management confidence Tandem can maintain service continuity through operational disruption events.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 
Operational Resilience 

  • Ensuring Tandem meet ongoing Regulatory commitments by embedding Tandem’s Operational Resilience framework throughout the business    
  • Identifying Critical Business Services as Tandem’s operating model evolves
  • Mapping the resources needed to deliver Critical Business Services by liaising with cross-functional stakeholders & SMEs
  • Designing and leading annual Testing of severe but plausible disruption scenarios 
  • Ensuring Operational Resilience Reporting & MI is embedded within Tandem’s governance structure, including the identification and escalation of material resilience vulnerabilities 
  • Leading Board and Senior Management engagement, including preparing written updates when required  

Business Continuity 

  • Designing and managing Tandem’s Business Continuity Management capability, including the development of scenario specific BCP plans
  • Ensuing Tandem possess the capability to respond to disruption events and maintain service continuity
  • Lead Tandem’s response to BCP events, including the co-ordination of a Crisis Management Team (CMT) with executive level attendance
  • Leading annual BCP testing with relevant cross-functional stakeholders & SMEs
  • Ensuring alignment with Tandem’s overarching Operational Resilience capability and the Technology owned Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP)  

What we're looking for: 
Essential: 

  • Experience working within a Regulated Financial Services firm or institution
  • Knowledge and practical experience of Business Continuity Management (BCM) 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, adept at explaining complex ideas efficiently and succinctly to relevant stakeholders
  • Experience in the identification, evaluation and prioritisation of risks and risk management techniques 
  • An ability to work autonomously and build strong stakeholder relationships across the organisation
  • Are self-sufficient, and can work confidently and diligently within a fast-paced environment
  • A positive attitude with a passion for delivering strong outcomes to internal stakeholders and customers

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and experience working with relevant (FCA/PRA) Operational Resilience Regulations
  • Previous exposure to or experience of the Fintech industry or a scale-up environment
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders, including the executive level
  • Experience writing and embedding policies or frameworks
  • Knowledge of or exposure to Corporate Governance, Operational Risk and Compliance functions
  • Experience working in a Project Management role and/or knowledge of methodologies
