ABOUT ENTREPRENEUR FIRST
At Entrepreneur First (“EF”), we believe that a small number of exceptional people will have an extraordinary impact by creating the technology companies which shape the future in ways we cannot yet imagine. We also believe that for many of these individuals, entrepreneurship is not an obvious or entirely legible career path.
We exist to identify and amplify the impact of these individuals. We do this via our unique approach to company creation, which sees us identify and work with outliers before they even know they’re outliers, right through to the day they prove it. We call this Talent Investing.
The companies built at EF are now worth over $10bn. They include Tractable (a computer vision unicorn), Magic Pony Technology (AI, acquired by Twitter for a reported $150m), Omnipresent (future of work, valued at $700m after 2.5 years), Ochre Bio (biotech), Dishpatch (food delivery, raised Series A from a16z after 6 months), Opply (supply chain), Voltz (DeFi), and many more.
EF is funded and backed by some of the world's best founders and investors, including Patrick and John Collison (Stripe), Reid Hoffman (LinkedIn), Tom Blomfield (GoCardless and Monzo) and Demis Hassabis (Google Deepmind). We’re looking for the next generation of Talent Investors to join us, and enable the world’s most exceptional people to fulfil their potential.
Having raised ourSeries C round of investment at the end of 2021, we have ambitious plans to further scale our impact over the coming years.
THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity for a Legal Operations Analyst to join our global Legal Team. The EF Legal Team is responsible for managing transactions in EF’s portfolio companies across the globe, as well as looking after internal matters such as fundraising, fund management and corporate governance as and when they arise. We are a fast growing, global, and highly ambitious company and in this role you’ll work directly on an extremely broad and varied range of matters in relation to our investments, fundraising, expansion, and day-to-day business operations. You will be responsible for assisting with a range of generalist tasks, as well as carrying out projects autonomously. You will gain exposure to all areas of our legal function as well as utilising the expertise of other teams, such as Compliance, Fund Operations and Finance. This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring junior legal professional looking to progress their career within the venture capital space with a focus on legal operations.
The role will be based in our buzzing London office alongside the local team and the exceptional founders on our programme, who share the space. The role will report to Entrepreneur First’s Legal Operations Manager.
What You'll Do
The scope of work in the Legal Team is broad and so this opportunity will provide exposure to a range of work streams, including corporate law, legal operations, and administration. As a Legal Operations Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the Legal Team in achieving its objectives. Your responsibilities will include the following:
-You will be responsible for refining in-house legal and transactional processes, including working with relevant stakeholders in order to optimise the pre-seed and follow-on investment workflows.
-You will support the Legal Team with the management and administration of EF investment documentation across transactions in Europe, North America and Asia. This will include reviewing and executing legal documents such as shareholder agreements, subscription agreements, and company articles in connection with EF portfolio company deal flow.
-You will play a key role in the Legal Team in optimising legal tools, including contract management, document automation, and other legal technologies. You will assist with completing founder due diligence KYC checks.
- Data is key to EF’s success and part of the role will be to work on and improve the record keeping of deal and fund data.
-In addition to the above responsibilities, you will be responsible for working on various ad hoc internal legal tasks and managing the company secretarial matters as well as monitoring and submitting Companies House filings and maintaining EF’s structure charts.
What You’ll Need:
-A keen interest in law, tech and/or venture capital and a passion for the mission of EF.
-The work we do is primarily corporate and commercial law. Any direct experience in these areas (particularly in the context of venture capital and/or operations) generally is highly desirable but not essential provided you are able to learn on your feet.
-A good undergraduate law degree or a Merit or above in the GDL.
-You should also be comfortable with technology in general and have a keen interest in legal tech specifically.
-1 year plus working in a legal capacity is advantageous, but not necessary.
-We would also be very interested in a candidate with native or fluent French or German language abilities.
About You
-Your work to a high standard and you are able to learn actively from your mistakes.
-You demonstrate operational excellence and ensure quality and integrity in everything that you do.
-You are a self-starter who takes ownership of results.
-You are a proactive, effective communicator.
-You thrive when working in a diverse, globally distributed team.
-You are excited about the amazing technology that EF’s portfolio companies are creating, as well as the role of the VC ecosystem.
-You are analytical and enjoy problem solving. As a rapidly growing business we take on new projects all the time and you will constantly be faced with challenges that no one in the company may have come across before.
-You want to help streamline processes and optimise best practices and might be able to borrow from past experience in order to improve how the Legal Team works.
-You demonstrate a love of learning and adapting to changing needs or circumstances.
What We Offer
-A competitive salary and generous upside potential based on performance.
-The opportunity to work with a fast-growing organisation that is influencing the growth of tech entrepreneurship not only in the UK, but globally.

-A Learning & Development allowance to purchase any product or service that will contribute to your personal or professional development.
-Enhanced parental leave plus broader leave policies. We care about our team and enabling the right balance between home and working life.
