bloomon is turning the flower industry on its head – for the better. How? By disrupting the traditional supply chain, where most florists operate offline and have done for decades. bloomon creates seasonal collections using unusual stems to deliver unique flower arrangements on repeat or as a unique gift. We always use field-fresh high-quality flowers straight from the grower and deliver them to our customers through a high-tech and highly creative platform.

We launched in Amsterdam in 2014 and went from start-up to scale-up at hypersonic speed. In 2021 we joined forces with Bloom & Wild, the UK's fastest growing ecommerce company (according to the Financial Times).  Driven by our vision of creating the destination for making life a little more thoughtful and beautiful, we're now part of Europe's leading online flower company.

Our group is backed by top tier investors including General Catalyst (backers of Airbnb and Deliveroo), who led our £75 million Series D funding round in January 2021, alongside Index Ventures (investors in Wise and Glossier). We are home to a family of 3 strong brands, Bloom & Wild, bloomon and Bergamotte. Together, we are active in 8 countries.

We really care about creating a diverse and inclusive team and we welcome people from all backgrounds, with different perspectives, ideas and experiences to work with us. In our team, everyone has the freedom to give their opinion, grow in their career and be part of a genuinely caring and inclusive team.

Procurement team at Bloom & Wild

Procurement is part of our global operations team, responsible for the fulfilment (production, packing, dispatch, delivery) of all products, for all countries where we deliver. The procurement team is responsible for all non-fresh products used in the 5 warehouses we use to fulfil our products (in NL, DE and 3 in UK). To be able to ship our products to our customers, packaging is essential. Under the non-fresh products there are packaging materials (flowerboxes, wrapping paper, ribbons, …), lifestyle products (vases, candles, …), food/drinks (chocolates, biscuits, alcoholic beverages, …) and more to come. The main responsibility of the procurement team is ensuring that we have the right materials, in the right place, with the right quality for the best price and in the most sustainable way possible. This can be split into three main areas of focus:

Materials availability

Ensuring all warehouses have the right amount of materials available, in timeEnsuring stock levels are sufficient but also limited (keep total stock value as low as possible, allow for packaging improvements in reasonable timeframe)Determine optimal replenishment  setup (frequency, amounts, warehouse capacity etc.)

Purchasing and procurement

Ensuring our material costs are fair, utilize our size and economies of scaleEnsure we keep and increase our buying power (no dependence on single suppliers, have continuous negotiation strategy) Ensure legal/contractual agreements are correct and up to date

Packaging design

Coordinating packaging design for new products and improving existing packaging, whereby taking into account all stakeholders requirements Initiate packaging improvements based on cross brand opportunities, improvements in scalability, sustainability or based on stakeholder feedback/requests

What will you do?

Ensure optimal stock levels across warehouses by working closely with the various warehouse teams Coordinate purchase orders with our suppliers, follow up on deliveries, guarantee that materials arrived at WH Monitor stock counts, spot potential count discrepancies Understand forecast mechanism and optimize quantity and price based on current stock vs forecast Owning (some) supplier relationships Internal communication with relevant stakeholders on upcoming deliveries, issues with deliveries, quality of deliveries, etc.  Guarantee that materials’ database (material’s code/name, respective commercial conditions per supplier) is updated Working with ERP system for data maintenance and orders placement Finding new opportunities to automate the ordering process

About you

You work in a structured way and keep an overview, and you're comfortable working with multiple stakeholders Excellent attention to detail and experience working with Excel, data and collaboration tools such as Google apps You have strong communication skills Able to develop relationships with external stakeholders (like suppliers) You are enthusiastic, independent, pro-active and a real team player You are resilient and aren’t phased by  last-minute change!
