Director of Sustainability & Impact (Interim)

We’re looking for someone to cover the maternity leave of our Director of Sustainability & Impact. 

In this role, you’ll be working for a company that is serious about its sustainability – leading a team that’s quickly growing, both in numbers and in ambition. Because of these plans, you won’t just be working on the day-to-day business but are also, together with the Sustainability & Impact team responsible for all things sustainability – from strategy development and budget management, to project implementation, data collection and reporting requirements, and much more. Furthermore, you co-head the D&I Board together with our Head of Recruitment to oversee a smooth implementation of our D&I strategy.

You’ll manage the day-to-day of the Sustainability & Impact team – leading the upscaling of the team and its responsibilities, standardizing processes, creating alignment with the different (internal) stakeholders, overseeing the successful implementation of the projects, and liaising with the CEO and shareholders about progress.

You’ll drive 2 deliverables that will have a high impact on our organization; 1. will be to ensure The Social Hub successfully submits its B Corp Impact Assessment and 2. Is setting up an ESG data strategy together with our Head of Data Strategy.

What You’ll Do: 

• You’ll manage and scale up the Sustainability & Impact team, and its ways of working
• You’ll manage the department’s strategy, OGSMs, and budget
• You’ll standardize department processes and project management to increase efficiency and impact
• You’ll optimize internal alignment with the different departments by preparing Standard Operating Procedures and templates
• You’ll oversee the submission of the B Corp Impact Assessment by managing the B Corp Project Manager and the consultants and other partners
• You’ll create an ESG Data Strategy together with our Head of Data Strategy
• You’ll co-own our D&I Strategy moving forward
• You’ll develop a strategy for the internal Ambassadors program
• You’ll liaise with the CEO about progress, and prepare board and shareholders’ meetings

Who You Are: 

• Ideally, you have around 10 years of working experience with at least 5 years of relevant experience in sustainability leadership roles
• You have ample experience in team and project management
• You have strong strategic and analytical skills and know how to standardize and optimize departments and ways of working
• You’re a true subject matter expert on environmental and societal sustainability
• You’re stress resistant. You maintain control and keep an overview of complex projects within tight deadlines but are also able to push back when necessary
• You have strong interpersonal and communication skills and can manage different stakeholders
• You are fluent in English (both in writing and speaking)
• You’re currently located in the Netherlands and are eligible to work
