We are looking for an HR Admin Assistant to join the Targeted Provision team on a permanent and hybrid basis, offering administrative support and helping us to grow and retain our team of individuals dedicated to supporting the UK’s vulnerable learners.

At Targeted Provision our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK.

We work with schools and local authorities to provide specialist tutors and mentors for children and young people with additional educational needs.

We also support mentoring and engagement / re-engagement for young people in need of Alternative Provision. We believe that with the right support and role model in their lives, every child can grow in confidence and succeed in learning.

The HR Admin Assistant role

  • Reviewing applications and conducting screening calls
  • Performing all onboarding admin (including processing DBSs and collecting references)
  • Onboarding new hires onto our HR platform
  • Producing onboarding schedules
  • Where necessary, attending and documenting any grievances and disciplinary meetings
  • Managing holiday requests and the holiday calendars
  • Updating records for parental, sick, and compassionate leave within the team
  • Updating all other employee records
  • Monitoring employee records and facilitating their updating of all relevant documentation and training as necessary
  • Management of our HR Platform (HiBob)
  • Execution of projects as directed by our Head of People

You

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about education and the impact we can have on the lives of young people. You’ll be keen to get stuck in, learn quickly, and take on new challenges. A high level of emotional intelligence is essential. Experience in education and an understanding of the sector and the current state of educational provisions for young people with SEND and Looked After Children would be an asset in this role.

Required:

  • Demonstrable commitment to changing the lives of vulnerable young people
  • Previous experience in an administrative role
  • A people-centred approach
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • The ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • IT literacy and the ability to learn and adapt to new systems

Desirable:

  • An HR qualification
  • Previous HR experience
  • Experience of HiBob
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding in education
  • Knowledge of special education needs
  • Experience using Trello, Airtable, Front or similar CRMs
