Role Summary

The Role: As the Director of the Public AI Training Data Infrastructure Fund, you will lead the creation and management of a new fund focused on strengthening public AI training data infrastructure. This includes reducing the cost and complexity of accessing large-scale web data, expanding multilingual and culturally representative corpora, and ensuring open access to AI resources. You will serve as the fund's primary spokesperson, set strategic directions, make funding decisions, and represent the fund to various stakeholders.
Job Requirements: Candidates must be highly entrepreneurial, independent, and comfortable operating autonomously. Strong project management skills are essential, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams. Excellent communication skills are required to translate complex technical information for diverse audiences. Familiarity with the landscape of public AI infrastructure and large-scale training data is necessary. Experience with philanthropic grantmaking, fund design, or managing competitive funding processes is preferred.
Benefits: The position offers a base compensation range of $180,000–$220,000, a comprehensive benefits package, 401K contributions, and a performance-based bonus. This role is grant-funded and contingent upon funding confirmation.
