Vivobarefoot are looking for a dynamic and exceptionally talented Senior Designer to lead the creative expression of Vivobarefoot’s regenerative mission, joining a growing and developing team. These role will lead the visual tone and presentation of the brand, working to translate brand vision into compelling creative, while leading and inspiring team members to produce innovative and genuinely disruptive, convention-challenging creative.
While Vivobarefoot’s primary channels are digital, with motion and animation design/output one of the key skills we are looking for, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across multiple channels. Your output is likely to cover physical retail, as well as a wide range of other mediums, from the traditional, to the experiential.
Reporting into the Creative Lead and working in close collaboration with the Brand Lead and CDO/Co-Founder and category marketeers, the role focuses on creative identity and execution, delivering arresting and highly impactful storytelling.
The Senior Design role will be instrumental to achieving our mission of reconnecting people with the natural world, affirming Vivobarefoot as a true challenger within the footwear and natural health industry, and a regenerative leader far beyond.
The Senior Designer will be a key point of contact for internal and external queries on how we show up visually and primarily responsible for:
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
- Continuous evolution of Vivobarefoot’s creative expression, setting the tone for how we show up and drive our mission
- Conceptualisation, storyboarding, digital design, motion & animation design for flagship initiatives and campaigns across footwear, health, and activism.
- Leading and art directing still and film shoots for content and campaigns, including post-production.
- Leading creative evolution of our platforms, from website and social, to physical retail.
- Designing on-brand creative concepts and mock-ups in response to a variety of cross channel briefs from internal teams.
- Leadership of internal creative team members – nurturing, developing, and uniting the creative team to take pride in and ownership of all visual output.
- Packaging and asset design to support Vivo products, consistent with brand mission & values; remove waste, optimise function & circularity.
- Shaping internal and external communications, documents, and presentations, from press releases to annual reports.
- Artworking digital and print ready assets and creative across BAU as well as major brand initiatives and projects.
- Ensuring workflow is managed and prioritised, so deadlines and expectations are met.
Success in the role will reflect in the following indicators, which include but are not limited to:
- Impact in role – develop Vivobarefoot's creative to become renowned for best-in-class visual storytelling, inspiring action and delivering meaningful messages with impact.
- Impact on the wider business – set an example for creative excellence, servicing and inspiring internal and external stakeholders.
- Impact on regions - understand Vivobarefoot's regional nuances and work with central and local markets to deliver creative optimised by market, and with consideration of local culture and legal requirements.
- Impact on the team – nurture, develop and unite the creative team to take pride in and ownership of all visual output.
WHAT WE'D LOVE TO SEE FROM YOU
- Design related degree, and/or commercial design experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, either in-house or agency.
- Excellent creative portfolio.
- Skilled in video editing, animation, and photography.
- Highly proficient in digital design/design for digital channels.
- Proven track record in the management and execution of best-in-class creative.
- Expert knowledge of Adobe CC.
- Good understanding of UX and UI, with sound working knowledge of Figma.
- Dynamic and daring approach to delivering messages through impactful visual mediums.
- Solid understanding of design principles and typography across motion, digital and print.
- Consistent conceptual thinking; be highly creative and imaginative, and curious about our & competitors’ propositions and creative delivery.
- Ability to manage multiple work streams, prioritise, and work to deadlines.
- Highly self-motivated and well organised.
- An eye for detail and great design.
- Understand the visual languages that resonate with Vivos target markets, both geographic [particularly UK, USA & DE] and consumer segments.
- Possess a challenger mindset.
- A thirst and curiosity for learning and betterment.
- Be able to appreciate alternative points of view and be receptive to feedback.
- Bags of creativity (smart-by-crazy ideas are ideal).
- Good researching and referencing skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Inspire, lead and nurture creative team.
- Interest in familiarising oneself with the concept of barefoot and a willingness to learn.
- Passion for Natural Health is essential.

- This is a full time position.
- Please note that whilst we use the word 'senior' in the job title of this role, we operate with a flat structure and aim to be as non-hierarchical as we can. We're hoping the inclusion of senior will help us find the level of candidates that we're looking for for this role - gotta be thinking about those search terms!
- We are mostly working flexibly from home and meeting up in person as each team requires. You will be required to attend few team and company events each year - please feel free to reach out to us if you'd like further information on this!
