About us:
We’re here to make money work for everyone and we're doing things differently. For too long, banking has been obtuse, complex and opaque.
We want to change that and build a bank with everyone, for everyone. Our amazing community suggests features, test the app and give us constant feedback so we can build something everyone loves.
We're focused on solving problems, rather than selling financial products. We want to make the world a better place and change people's lives through Monzo.
About our Policy Team:
We don’t operate in a vacuum and we want our approach to policy to mirror our approach as a company and our brand. We believe we have the opportunity to have a hugely positive impact on behalf of our customers and society, with a particular focus on corporate policy, social policy and financial inclusion.
You'll be part of our Public Policy & ESG squad. You’ll work closely with teams across the company to create and deliver our strategy on a range of issues, including reforms to financial services rules and the treatment of vulnerable customers.

- Helping build our expertise and views on a range of policy and social impact issues, and advocating for change which helps us achieve our mission.
- Working with internal product teams to help them build features and services that enhance our mission to make money work for everyone.
- Coordinating and writing formal responses to relevant consultations and other requests.
- Partnering with organisations who share our aims by pooling our expertise, resources and voice.
- Where appropriate, leading our policy development in areas like financial inclusion and regulation.
What you'll be involved in:
- Enthusiastically engage with the team, Collective, or discipline-level initiatives where best placed to help, bringing about positive change through their involvement.
- Contribute to the wider team or domain meeting goals through successfully leading and consistently delivering on challenging projects on complex issues
- Proactively help others to improve by sponsoring, mentoring and providing constructive, candid feedback.
- Act as a trusted problem solver, capable of leading the resolution of issues related to their work or area of expertise.
- Proactively stay up to date with external trends in their area, and use this knowledge to contribute thoughts on their squad’s strategy.
You should apply if:
- You’re passionate about Monzo, our mission, and you want to drive positive impact and change for our customers.
- You have experience working in policy, whether as part of a policy team, a public affairs team, a think tank or similar.
- Experience in financial services or tech policy is a bonus, but not a prerequisite.
