Freddie’s Flowers was founded by Freddie Garland in October 2014 with the aim of changing people’s relationships with flowers in an ethical, and sustainable way. We want to challenge the view that flowers are for others or for special occasions, and so we offer a completely different experience to other flower businesses.

Our direct-to-consumer subscription model has been hugely successful in the UK and internationally, with our customer base almost doubling last year alone. We recently secured significant investment and backing from The Craftory, a purpose-led global investment house, and are about to undertake our largest ever programme of expansion in the UK and internationally.

About The Role:

To work within the UK creative team, helping write, translate, reframe and optimise all our marketing and brand content for our German customers. Working especially closely with our Senior Copywriter – who is responsible for Tone of Voice and content strategy – to ensure all German-language assets and touchpoints are a successful translation (both in terms of language and ideas!). A love of flowers is helpful, but not essential – that’ll certainly come with time.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Creating copy for German social channel
  • Working with the social team to create bespoke copy for our posts in Germany, across our different platforms
  • Helping the social team plan for and address social trends that are Germany-specific
  • Translating (and trans-creating) print materials
  • Working with the Copy Lead to adapt, translate and rework copy for all print assets that are duplicated for our German customers
  • To lead on reworking assets to optimise them for the German market
  • Translating CRM email content
  • Working with our CRM team to translate and shape our customer emails.
  • Optimising our CRM strategy for a German audience
  • Leading on all Germany-specific copy projects
  • Directed by the Copy Lead, taking an active role in leading the approach to all Germany-specific projects that require copy, such as emails, box notes, print materials and guides that are only relevant to our German customers and audience
  • Liaising with our German marketing team to get all DE-specific work signed off

Requirements

  • Creative: You will be able to take English copy (and the ideas within it) and create German copy that honours the source, but recreates it for a German audience. You’ll constantly think of new ideas for our German customers, across all our touchpoints.
  • An eye for detail: Proofing is part of what we do – you will be a thorough and attentive proof-reader of your own work.
  • Proactive: You will be independently minded and keen to spot areas in which we can improve, helping us to make it happen.
  • Excellent at time management: You’ll be able to organise your time effectively to manage multiple tasks, meeting deadlines and hitting targets
