We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Sales Intern to join the Group Sales Team, working across all divisions at HarperCollins UK. The role sits within the Trade Marketing team, and the successful candidate will work with both Trade Marketing (UK and International) and the Field Sales team (who look after independent bookshops across the UK and Ireland). This is an exciting entry level opportunity for someone who is passionate about high street bookshops and interested in driving HarperCollins communications and relationships with booksellers.
The internship will run 4th September – 30th November 2023 (3-month FTC).
Key Responsibilities:
· Creating retailer PowerPoint presentations
· Managing and co-ordinating mailings to booksellers and retailers
· Ad hoc order processing
· Updating and maintaining retailer grids
· Assisting with author stock signings
· Helping to run trade-facing social media accounts and inboxes
· Updating the IndieThinking website
· Curating trade-facing newsletters
· Building relationships with retailers (e.g. Waterstones and independent booksellers)
· Assisting the Trade Marketing team with events
· Assisting the Field Sales and Trade Marketing teams with day-to-day tasks
People Specification:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Organisation and prioritisation skills with the ability to meet deadlines
· Attention to detail
· Strong relationship building skills
· Collaborative team player
· Skills in MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel)
· Driven and proactive, with a willingness to learn
· Prior experience in the publishing industry is not required
