About us

At GoCardless we believe bank payments are the best way to pay and get paid. We also believe that bank account data is a powerful tool to make better, faster decisions. We’re making it easy to use both- for businesses everywhere.

GoCardless is used for domestic and international payments by 75,000+ organisations and counting, processing more than $30 billion across 30 countries. We’re an award-winning London based fintech, with additional offices in Riga, Paris and Melbourne.

Reporting to the Director, People Partnering and Talent Development, this is a critical role that will have a high impact on GoCardless’ ability to deliver on its ambitious strategy to become the world’s bank payment network.

Over the next few years we expect to accelerate the growth and learning of our employees by enabling an inclusive, high performance and quality feedback culture. You will build the Talent Development roadmap and be responsible for the design and roll out of all our performance frameworks and targeted growth programmes.

What excites you

  • Creating and driving the strategy for the Talent Development function, in alignment with overall business strategy and annual objectives

  • Creating a productive feedback loop with the business to continually improve our ability to deliver impactful programmes to GeeCees.
  • Embedding Diversity, Equity and Inclusion principles in all programmes and specifically building inclusive leadership capabilities
  • Driving action using insights from the engagement survey and ensuring we are differentiating based on our diverse populations
  • Developing strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business to feed into our understanding of business needs
  • Own the setup and continuous improvement of talent development tools and systems related to the processes under your responsibility
  • Continually think about how to improve the impact of our targeted programmes and the measurability of our talent development
  • Partner internally to embed D&I into every aspect of our talent development strategy, in alignment with other parts of the business
  • Act as a change leader, in partnership with the business, operationalising our Talent development vision and delivering on our roadmap

What excites us

  • Demonstrated experience of building a culture aligned to the people vision through an integrated talent and development plan
  • Experience in delivery of learning programmes that embed core business principles and support people through different career stages
  • Knowledge of implementing talent management initiatives such as assessment of potential or company-wide succession planning
  • Product and customer mindset to ensure we build simple, smart people products with the end user and point of need always in mind
  • Strong facilitation skills, whether in a learning environment, leadership offsite or within a senior talent calibration session
  • A skilled stakeholder manager and influencer with the ability to communicate clearly and simply at all levels of the organisation
  • Data driven and insight led to be able to take information and turn it into meaningful actions
  • Balancing the ability to think and do in order to go from concept to delivering at pace, prioritising in flight and managing multiple projects
