Purpose of the Role
To support and work with the FM in ensuring the key deliverables are achieved. Namely the timely completion of VAT/PSA returns, the corporate tax computations, and monthly and quarterly reporting to US parent company. Also responsible for ensuring the accurate reporting of all intercompany balances across the group.
Responsibility:
Tax:
Compiling the monthly, bimonthly and quarterly VAT returns (UK and European);
Production of the tax data pack to enable sister company to produce annual tax return
Analysis of T&E and other expenses to enable PSA return
Compiling quarterly analysis of tax withheld to enable submission of CT61 return to HMRC
Work with the FM to ensure all SAO requirements are met and suitable controls are maintained
Intercompany Accounting:
Be the main focal point for the UK business in agreeing and reporting all intercompany balances.
Ensuring any settlements, payable and receivable are communicated timely to treasury
Timely completion of all balance sheet reconciliations
Reporting monthly intercompany sales to US parent
 Year End Statutory Audit:
Work alongside the FAM (Financial Accounting Manager) to produce Statutory accounts for the smaller trading companies
Monthly Reporting:
Generation of the monthly Balance Sheet after period close to enable the submission of the Balance Sheet and associated commentary to US parent company
Ad hoc assistance:
Requests from HMRC
Assist both the FAM and FM on various tasks, including but not limited to
Requests from companyâs auditors
Provide ad-hoc support to Financial Controller and Head of Financial Reporting on project work and other deliverables, as required
Person Specification
Essential:
Degree or equivalent work experience
Maths GCSE or equivalent qualification
Experience working in similar Group Finance function
Have performed Balance Sheet reconciliations
Skills / Competencies:
Exceptional EXCEL skills
Effective planner/scheduler
Willing to challenge the status quo
Very good attention to detail and ability to produce quality outputs first time
Proactive communication with sister companies to resolve issues quickly and efficiently
Ability to manage various workloads simultaneou
Desirable:
Part qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA/AAT
Previous experience with tax reporting
Knowledge of Hyperion / JD Edwards
Have worked with US parent company
Exposure to FRS102 reporting
