Role Summary

Role Requirements

  • Profound understanding of accounting, tax, and tax governance.

  • A CA or CPA accreditation is a plus.

About the Role At Blackbird, we are expanding our Finance function to support our growth and ensure transparent and compliant financial operations. As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role in leading our financial accounting team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, Rebecca McCallum, you will be responsible for month-end processes, tax compliance, payroll functions, and annual audits. This position is based in our Sydney or Melbourne office, with the flexibility to work from home.

Job Requirements The ideal candidate will have strong technical foundations in accounting, tax, and tax governance, and be skilled at process improvement. Experience in managing month-end and year-end closes, navigating audits, and developing a small financial team is essential. A CA or CPA qualification is preferred. We are looking for someone who is proactive, commercially minded, and enjoys working in a dynamic environment.
