About the team

About the role

The newly created role of Financial Reporting Lead will take ownership of accurate and compliant financial reporting. You will take ownership of statutory reporting, manage the audit process, and contribute to key accounting treatment decisions. This is a unique opportunity to bring your expertise into an exciting and fast-paced environment, you will be joining one of the UK’s 10 fastest-growing start-ups.

Working closely with the VP Finance, CFO and wider leadership team you will be crafting and owning the reporting strategy, for a Company which has a potential route to IPO in 5-7 years. You will be a significant contributor and your role will evolve as the business remit expands. 

You'll be...

Owning group consolidation, statutory reporting and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards. Fulfilling statutory and tax reporting obligations in a timely and accurate manner across various jurisdictions and lead on building our approach in new countries as we enter new markets.  The subject matter expert for all applicable standards impacting ZOE’s area of operations, including the impact of standards such as IFRS15.  Managing the audit process, collaborating closely with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support. Analysing and making recommendations on key accounting treatment choices, including assessing new business models, products, and propositions. Driving process and project management methodologies to streamline financial reporting processes. A key contact for tax advisory relationships, participating in the Group’s tax strategy. Ensuring all tax reporting gets filed on time within relevant tax jurisdictions. Supporting implementing and enhancement of the group-wide financial control framework. Supporting the ongoing development and strengthening of the Group’s internal controls & processes.

Key skills required...

In-depth knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and experience in applying them effectively. Proficiency in statutory report writing and multi-entity and Group audit management. Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams. A proactive and adaptable mindset, able to thrive in a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment. Big 4 experience is highly desirable. ACA/ACCA qualified accountant with a strong background in financial reporting and audit. You are systematic and organised. You have experience in roles with multiple responsibilities.  A great collaborator with a positive attitude who people enjoy working with. You have experience working cross-functionally.  Team player with a “no task is too small” mentality Xero experience is desirable and larger ERP experience is essential
