The role: As the Director, South West and Literature, you will be instrumental in developing our national ambitions and ensuring that culture thrives in all communities within the South West, from Tewkesbury to Portsmouth, and from Swindon to the Isles of Scilly. You will lead the Arts Council's initiatives in literature, collaborating with a team of relationship managers to enhance our efforts in promoting reading for pleasure and supporting independent publishers and bookshops. This role offers a significant opportunity to influence future investments in the literature sector during our upcoming national portfolio round.

Job requirements: The position requires leadership skills, as you will be managing senior staff, convening team meetings, and maintaining critical sector relationships. A strong connection with stakeholders in local government, higher education, business, and the voluntary and community sectors is crucial to maximize the potential of our investments.
